Hi, I'm Juliana.

For a long time, my resume looked like four different people. Archaeology digs. GIS maps. A startup. A research job about immigration messaging. Then I started to see the thread connecting them.

I keep coming back to the gap between how communities are talked about and how they actually live, and to what happens when policy written far away reaches real people and real land. I've mapped deforestation and land conflict in the Brazilian Amazon, rebuilt a food-access process alongside Colorado farmers, and I'm currently researching how Indigenous organizations lead and represent their own environmental justice work around COP30.

I also take a lot of pictures. Mostly of people.

This site is where I work out what it all adds up to, in public. If you want the full story, start with finding the thread.
